Tabiano Castle
An evocative manor house with a unique panorama
Built at the beginning of the 11th century, Tabiano Castle was one of the fundamental garrisons of the Pallavicino Marquises, for control of the salt wells of Salsomaggiore and Tabiano.
After centuries of contention, in the 19th century, the castle was converted into a private residence and the site of a farm.
Situated in a dominant position on the Po Valley, it boasts a unique panorama, stretching as far as the Alps. The frescoed rooms, the large cellars, the view from the terraces and the spectacular staircase of honour make Tabiano Castle one of the most evocative manors in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.
Along the slopes from the Castle, immersed in calm and greenery, stands the ancient medieval hamlet of Tabiano Castello, now transformed into a Relais de Charme, and the Il “Caseificio” restaurant, with local produce, fruit and vegetables from the garden.
The Castle and its medieval hamlet are the ideal destination to immerse oneself in history and nature, to spend a relaxing holiday and to discover cultural and gastronomic experiences of the highest quality. Today, the Castle of Tabiano is a private residence, open for visits, parties, events, and weddings.
